Not the cheapest but an excellent level of service and they always complete the work to time and to a high standard so you get what you pay for.
I've just had my Porsche 911 997 repaired at RT Mechanics. Superb job! Russell is a very diligent individual and his attention to detail is second to none. I've also had my Audi repaired here and had the same service. I can highly recommend!
Upon hearing knocking noises from my V50 and after being sent down the garden path by Sentinal Volvo in London, I decided to give RT Mechanics a go given their excellent reputation. My car was in the care of Dan Judge, who was excellent. He immediately diagnosed the problems with my car (one of which was very serious and the result of a negligent steering alignment by Kwik Fit) and identified various other issues that also needed fairly swift attention. The bill was pretty hefty, but most of it was on parts. Given the quality of the work done (which is vastly superior to any Volvo main dealer I've experience), the labour rates represent excellent value. In terms of service, I was dropped off at the train station and my car was cleaned inside and and out upon collection. Well worth the money and I'll be using them again for everything in future (but hopefully not too soon!).
I can only echo what Ian Bald has said here. Russ and his team know Volvos - especially my favourite, the 850 - inside out and backwards, and they're seriously good engineers. Russ takes a tremendous pride in his work, is totally honest and up-front about costs, and is always willing to offer helpful advice, a courtesy car, a lift to the railway station etc. I live in Guernsey but I bring my Volvo all the way over to Haslemere when it needs attention because Russ is the best - who better than an 850 nut to entrust your 850 to?
Always very helpful and accomodating - they collect my car and drop it back with no inconvenience to myself or they have courtesy cars available.The work is always done to high standard and they check the cost with me first to make sure I'm happy.A very friendly team to deal with and I would have no hesitation is recommending them for either Volvo or BMW work to be done, which is very cost effective.
